THE EDUCATION AWARDS CYCLE

The Education Awards Cycle is named after Sam and Hannah Obura, both Mudhiero Alumni, located in Siaya county, Kenya. This annual effort was  initiated in 2015 in recognition of Sam Obura's belated graduation from the University of Cincinnati.

We recognize students at Mudhiero Primary with a monetary award. This award not only acknowledges success but also recognizes many other qualities: ability, struggle, effort and excellence.

Starting with 22,500 Kenyan shillings awarded to three students, it has since grown to awarding 46 students with 176,500 Kenyan shillings in total.
